IMPLEMENTASI KEGIATAN RO’AN DALAM MENUMBUHKAN NILAI MULTIKULTURALISME PADA SANTRI PONDOK PESANTREN DARUL ULUM AS-SURUR SIDOMULYO SILO JEMBER

Abstract

The Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are Islamic educational institutions that play an important role not only in developing religious knowledge but also in shaping students' character and social attitudes. One of the activities implemented in the pesantren is ro'an, a communal work activity carried out by all students to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pesantren environment. Through this activity, students from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, regions, languages, and personal characteristics interact and cooperate to achieve common goals. This study employed a descriptive qualitative research approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation conducted at the pesantren. The findings indicate that the implementation of ro'an plays a significant role in fostering multicultural values among the students of Darul Ulum As-Surur Islamic Boarding School, Sidomulyo, Silo, Jember, including cooperation, mutual respect, responsibility, and social awareness. In addition, ro'an serves as a means of strengthening relationships among students, thereby creating a harmonious and inclusive boarding school environment. In conclusion, the implementation of ro'an contributes to the development of multicultural values and strengthens the social character of students at Darul Ulum As-Surur Islamic Boarding School, Sidomulyo, Silo, Jember.
