PENDIDIKAN MULTIKULTURAL SEBAGAI UPAYA MENCEGAH BULLYING MTS MAMBAUL ULUM 03 AL GHONI

Abstract

Bullying is a problem that often occurs in the school environment and can have a serious impact on student development. Bullying not only causes physical harm, but can also affect the victim's psychological, emotional, social condition and academic achievement. One of the factors that can trigger bullying is a lack of mutual respect for differences in the school environment. Therefore, multicultural education is an important approach to implement because it instills the values of tolerance, mutual respect, empathy, justice, and appreciation for diversity of ethnicity, religion, culture, language and social background. The aim of writing this paper is to examine the role of multicultural education as an effort to prevent bullying at MTs Mambaul Ulum 03 Al Ghoni. The method used in preparing this paper is library research, namely by collecting, reviewing and analyzing various scientific sources in the form of books, journals, articles and other references relevant to the research topic. The results of the study show that the application of multicultural education can shape the character of students who have a tolerant attitude, respect differences, are able to work together, and resolve conflicts peacefully. Apart from that, successful bullying prevention also requires the active involvement of teachers, parents and the entire school community in creating a school culture that is safe, inclusive and free from discrimination. Thus, multicultural education can be an effective preventive strategy in reducing bullying behavior while creating a harmonious learning environment and supporting optimal character development of students.
