IMPLIKASI PENDIDIKAN PERDAMAIAN DALAM QS. Al-MUMTAHANAH [60]: 8 TERHADAP HUBUNGAN SOSIAL LINTAS AGAMA DENGAN PERSPEKTIF TAFSIR TARBAWI

Abstract

This study examines the implications of peace education in Qur'an Surah Al-Mumtahanah [60]: 8 for interfaith social relations from the perspective of Tafsir Tarbawi (educational exegesis). The scope of this research includes an analysis of the educational values embedded in the verse, particularly tolerance, justice, respect for human dignity, social cooperation, and peaceful coexistence within a pluralistic society. The objective of this study is to identify the values of peace education contained in Qur'an Surah Al-Mumtahanah [60]: 8 and to analyze their implications for fostering harmonious interfaith social relations from the perspective of Islamic education. This research employs a qualitative library research method using content analysis. Primary data are derived from the Qur'an and classical as well as contemporary Qur'anic commentaries, particularly educational exegesis (Tafsir Tarbawi), while secondary data are obtained from scholarly books, journal articles, and relevant previous studies. The findings reveal that Qur'an Surah Al-Mumtahanah [60]: 8 embodies the principles of peace education by emphasizing kindness (al-birr) and justice (al-qisṭ) toward followers of other religions who do not engage in hostility against Muslims. These values contribute to the development of harmonious, inclusive, and respectful interfaith social relations while strengthening religious moderation in contemporary society. The study concludes that the Tafsir Tarbawi perspective on Qur'an Surah Al-Mumtahanah [60]: 8 provides a normative and pedagogical foundation for developing Islamic education that promotes a culture of peace, tolerance, and social cohesion within religious diversity.
