NARASI TEOLOGI DAMAI DI RUANG DIGITAL : KONTRIBUSI ILMU KALAM TERHADAP LITERASI KEAGAMAAN

Abstract

The rapid development of the digital sphere has transformed the dissemination of religious information while simultaneously creating opportunities for the spread of intolerant, exclusive, and provocative religious narratives. This phenomenon highlights the importance of strengthening religious literacy to foster critical thinking, religious moderation, and a peace-oriented mindset. This study aims to analyze the construction of the theology of peace narrative in the digital sphere and to examine the contribution of Ilmu Kalam (Islamic theology) as a theological foundation for strengthening religious literacy in the digital era. The research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach. The data were collected from the Qur’an, Hadith, books, scholarly journal articles, and other relevant documents concerning Ilmu Kalam, the theology of peace, religious tolerance, and digital literacy. The data were analyzed using content analysis and a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings reveal that the fundamental principles of Islamic teachings, including rationality, dialogue, tolerance, justice, and respect for diversity, play a strategic role in constructing inclusive and peaceful religious narratives within the digital sphere. These narratives contribute to enhancing the public’s ability to critically evaluate religious information, counter the spread of hate speech and extremist ideologies, and strengthen the practice of religious moderation. This study concludes that Ilmu Kalam possesses significant relevance as a theological foundation for developing digital religious literacy aimed at fostering a harmonious, tolerant, and civilized digital environment.
