DIGITALISASI TAFSIR DAN MODERASI BERAGAMA: PERAN MEDIA SOSIAL DALAM PENYEBARAN NILAI-NILAI QUR’ANI YANG INKLUSIF

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly transformed the production and dissemination of Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir). Tafsir is no longer confined to classical texts but has expanded into digital spaces through social media, mobile applications, websites, and artificial intelligence-based platforms. This article aims to analyze the role of digital tafsir in promoting religious moderation grounded in the Qur’anic concept of wasathiyyah (moderation). Employing a qualitative approach based on library research and digital content analysis, this study examines how inclusive interpretive narratives are constructed and disseminated, as well as the challenges involved, including the reduction of complex meanings and the potential ideological misuse of Qur’anic verses. The findings indicate that digital technology offers substantial opportunities to broaden the reach of moderate interpretations and to foster inclusive, dialogical, and peace-oriented religious discourse. However, these opportunities are accompanied by critical challenges, such as the erosion of interpretive depth and the fragmentation of religious authority. Therefore, a robust epistemological framework of tafsir, combined with sensitivity to socio-cultural contexts, is essential to ensure that digital interpretations remain meaningful and relevant. This study concludes that the integration of Qur’anic scholarship, cultural context, and technological innovation is crucial in advancing religious moderation as foundational pillar for sustainable peace
